Smiles 4 Kids is an event that the entire dental community plans for each year. It is a nationwide event put on for uninsured and under-insured children with acute dental needs to obtain dentistry that otherwise would have been unaffordable. Dr. Rasi participates in the fund-raising for this event, donates any precious metals taken out of teeth to this event, pre-screens thousands of children at local area schools, then hosts the event at her site each year.

Cindy participates in the organizing and screenings with Dr. Rasi and the entire staff participates the day of the Smiles 4 kids event. In collaboration with the Sacramento District Dental Society, other dentists, hygienists, assistants and office staff come to Dr. Rasi's site to volunteer their time on the day of the event.

After the event, many local dentists volunteer to 'adopt' the children who need more dentistry than can be provided the day of the event. Our entire dental community enjoys this opportunity to give back to the community, while at the same time helping our local children to miss less school because of toothaches and/or dental infections.

Dr. Rasi also volunteers in screening and providing dentistry for under-insured adults at a place that gives help to people who are starting-over in a supervised program.
